Why do I bother with them

Well Mansion is at it again. Pissing me off, that is.

I just received an e-mail from them, since I'm on their 'members' mailing list, and they just informed me that their bonuses will now be paid out in $10 increments for every 1000 MCP I can accumulate. That is a 54% increase in MCP just to get the same bonus. That means to get $20 more dollars in bonuses I will need to reach 2000. The old way would have given me $30, which is what I was aiming for this month. There is a caveat. It states that if I am currently in an ongoing bonus hunt, then once the time has expired for my current bonus (June 30th in my case), they will honour my old agreement, meaning if I hit 2000 MCP, I will get $20 plus they will give me a 1 time bonus of $10 to make it what I expected (1950 MCP would give me $30 in bonuses). But for anyone crazy enough to deposit money on Mansion starting June 1st, 2009, they get the 'new and improved' rate. Suckers for thinking Mansion is all about keeping their members happy.

I really don't understand Mansion, unless they are increasing the number of points you get per rake, then this increase in MCP to get a bonus will only turn people away from depositing money on their site. First they don't offer any rake back deals what so ever, and now in order to get $10 in bonus money you need to generate $50 in tournament rake and more than than in cash game rake. That is ridiculous.

All I know is that I only have 1 month to finish my bonus hunt on Mansion, and after it is done, I will gladly withdraw ALL my money and deposit it on a site that will offer me some better incentive to play there.

I wish Mansion luck with their new bonus payout option, but I really think this will hurt them more than anything. That is too bad, because I like the fairly soft games there, and their user friendly software. Oh well, time will tell if Mansion can fix this.

See you on the felt, just after this month it won't be on Mansion, again.
